Business Development Manager – North America Fashion & Apparel Alvin's Club | Remote (North America)

Business Development Manager — North America Fashion & Apparel

Alvin's Club · Remote (North America) · Contract to Full-Time

$50,000–$100,000 a year + performance commission

Please read before applying: this is a senior, network-dependent closing role. If your background is customer service, account support, SDR, retail sales or inbound sales, this is not the right fit. We are only reviewing applications from candidates with an existing book of fashion or apparel merchant relationships.

About Alvin's Club

Alvin's Club is an AI-native content and commerce network rebuilding how fashion brands grow. We produce 10,000+ original creator videos every day across fashion, home and jewelry, powered by a proprietary AI system. From content generation through to GMV delivery, we don't sell impressions — we deliver outcomes.

Before you apply, look at what we actually make:

We'd rather you spend five minutes on those than on your cover letter. Candidates who reference something specific from the demo get read first.

What this role actually is

You bring existing fashion and apparel merchant relationships, and you convert them into signed accounts. That's the job.

There is no SDR team feeding you leads, no inbound pipeline, no marketing-qualified list waiting in a CRM. You build the target list, you make the calls, you run the negotiation, you get the signature. If you have closed deals off relationships you built yourself, you'll recognize this role immediately. If you haven't, the ramp targets below will not be achievable.

What you'll own

  • Sourcing and closing fashion and apparel merchants across Shopify independents, TikTok Shop brands, Amazon apparel sellers, MCN rosters, and Shopify agent/aggregator portfolios
  • The full BD cycle, from first outreach to signed agreement, run independently
  • A live, prioritized target account list spanning DTC brands, platform sellers and agency partners
  • Market intelligence back to leadership — objections, competitive landscape, pricing friction
  • Escalating $100M+ GMV brand opportunities for executive engagement

Ramp expectations

Deal structures vary by merchant type and platform, so we don't set a rigid monthly quota. We do expect your first signed merchant inside month one, and a self-built pipeline behind it. Specific targets get agreed with you once we've assessed your network.

Hard requirements

You will not be considered without all of the following:

  • 4+ years carrying a quota in BD, partnerships or sales within North American fashion, apparel or e-commerce — not adjacent industries, not general SaaS
  • An existing warm network across at least two of: Shopify fashion independents, Amazon apparel sellers, US/CA MCN agencies, Shopify partner agents or aggregators, fashion brand managers. You should be able to name specific accounts you could contact this week.
  • A documented record of self-sourced closes — deals you originated, not accounts you inherited, renewed or supported
  • Working fluency in CPC, CPM, GMV, ROAS and ROI, with the ability to build a commercial case for a brand buyer without support
  • Based in North America, business-fluent English

Strong differentiators

  • Relationships with Shopify agents or aggregators managing multiple fashion store clients
  • Access to MCN rosters with fashion or lifestyle brand partnership infrastructure
  • Direct experience in TikTok Shop brand partnerships in the US market
  • A network among mid-size to large DTC brands ($10M–$100M+ GMV)
  • Prior time at a performance marketing agency, content studio or fashion platform

Compensation

  • Base: $50,000–$100,000 CAD per year, annualized contractor rate, set by the strength of your network
  • Commission: performance-based, tied to deals closed and GMV delivered. Top performers earn well above base.
  • Structure: 3-month contractor engagement, converting to full-time on performance

How to apply

Apply here, or email service@alvinsclub.ca with subject line: BD Application – [Your Name]

Answer all three questions. Applications without all three will not be reviewed:

  • Which merchant or agency types is your network concentrated in, and roughly how many decision-maker relationships does it cover?
  • Describe one deal you originated and closed yourself — the account, the deal size, what you did, and the outcome.
  • How many qualified fashion brand contacts could you personally reach in your first week, and what three types of accounts would you start with?

Résumé-only submissions will not be reviewed.
