Copywriter & Content Strategist - Entry Level, Hybrid

The Role

We're looking for a motivated and versatile writing and marketing professional to join our team. This is a hybrid role based at our office with the option to work from home part of the week.

As our Content Strategist and Copywriter, you'll be the marketing generalist and content lead responsible for creating and executing integrated communications across email, social media, web, and publications. You'll support strategic planning and campaign development, playing a central role in advancing our communications and marketing initiatives. Your work will ensure consistency of voice, accuracy of messaging, and effective outreach to our member communities.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership and impact. The ideal candidate writes with clarity and purpose, manages multiple projects with confidence, and thrives in a collaborative team environment where taking initiative is valued. No prior experience is required — we'll provide full training.

What You'll Be Doing

Content & Editorial

Lead content development and editorial coordination for publications, including managing the writing process, proofreading, and maintaining editorial calendars. Draft and create emails and communications from design templates. Own and develop social media content, working with team members to ensure visual assets are used effectively. Conduct research and analyze marketing campaigns and website content for effectiveness. Collaborate with members and the team to develop case studies, testimonials, and article content. Coordinate and manage communications around key organizational initiatives.

Marketing & Campaign Support

Work cross-functionally to complete projects from concept to delivery — on strategy, on time, and meeting defined goals. Develop and implement promotional campaigns by identifying target audiences, crafting audience-specific messaging, and ensuring alignment with organizational brand voice. Support strategic marketing planning and campaign frameworks. Maintain brand standards and style across all content. Manage your time and priorities effectively to handle multiple tasks with strong attention to detail and minimal supervision. Suggest improvements to processes and new approaches to work.

Skills & Attributes Needed

Strong copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills with hands-on writing experience. Ability to write in a variety of voices and for diverse audiences. Experience or demonstrated interest in developing audience-centered messages and content. Willingness to learn new marketing, communications, and software tools — we'll guide you through everything. Ability to develop promotional plans, support marketing strategies, and solve problems creatively. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Experience & Qualifications

A minimum of two to three years of experience in marketing, communications, writing, or a related field is preferred. A college degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Experience or familiarity with Zoom, email marketing software, database management, website management, social media platforms, and calendar programs is a plus.

What to Expect

This is a hybrid position. You'll spend part of each week in our office and part of the time working from home. One week of in-person support will be needed at our annual conference each spring. Other occasional travel within the region may be required and will be reimbursed.

We offer a supportive team environment, flexible work arrangements with a standard work week, and opportunities for learning and growth in your marketing and communications career. Full training will be provided so you can succeed from day one.
