Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Fulfillment Lead, you serve as the on-floor extension of your Area Manager inside our fulfillment center — monitoring your team's real-time productivity, coaching individual associates on method compliance, and resolving operational issues the moment they arise so your area never falls behind the shift's throughput targets.

  • Real-Time Productivity Coaching: Monitor individual associate productivity rates on your area's digital dashboard during active sort windows, identifying associates running below target and delivering immediate, constructive on-floor coaching that raises their rate without disrupting the belt flow.
  • Safety & Method Auditing: Patrol your assigned work area continuously during peak throughput periods, observing associate lifting techniques, equipment operation behaviors, and sort accuracy, correcting any method deviation immediately before it becomes an injury or a service failure.
  • Shift Escalation Management: Identify and immediately escalate equipment failures, staffing gaps, volume surges, and safety anomalies to the Area Manager with clear, concise situation reports and recommended immediate actions that protect the shift's departure schedule.

Benefits & Perks

UPS Fulfillment Leads earn a meaningful pay premium above standard associate Teamsters wages, reflecting the additional on-floor leadership responsibility of the role. Full medical, dental, and vision benefits, pension accrual, paid personal days, and UPS Earn & Learn tuition assistance are included. Lead status is formally recognized in UPS's internal promotion selection process and accelerates the pathway to Process Assistant and Operations Supervisor advancement.
