Job Description

Position: Full-time Custodian

  • Details: Full-time position
  • Immediately eligible for health benefits, life insurance and retirement (pension)
  • 40 hours per week
  • 12 Month Position (Year Round)
  • Location: Coulter Grove Intermediate School
  • Pay Range: $17.64/hour (starting pay rate with no experience)

Work Related Experience, Skills, Abilities

  • Preferred- Successful maintenance/cleaning experience
  • Preferred- Skills, abilities, experiences in light maintenance, inspections, general cleaning, management of personnel
  • The ideal candidate will have abilities to positively communicate, collaborate and work well with others.

Qualities of a Desired Candidate Include:A track record of success as evidenced by positive relationships, positive communications and strong recommendations from previous employers.

  • Ability to contribute strongly and positively to a team
  • Past positive experience in leading and/or managing workers

Responsibilities:

  • General Cleaning- (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and other general cleaning)Administrative offices and areas, kitchen, storage closets, café dining areas, daily kitchen and dining garbage removal, etc.) Other areas as needed or directed throughout the school day to include cafeteria, bathrooms, locker rooms, classrooms, and gym
  • Stocking (Re-stock and re-order towels, hand soap, toilet tissue, trash liners, etc.)
  • Light maintenance- Changing light bulbs, moving furniture, unloading trucks, and other requests as needed by school administration.
  • Inspections/Reporting- Inspect previous shift cleaning, reporting deficiencies to supervisor
  • Ability to perform any physical duties associated with this position (e.g., lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, sitting for long periods of time, walking, seeing, standing for extended periods of time, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned by administration
