Inside Sales Representative / Appointment Setter (Part-Time, Remote, Michigan)

Happy With Dogs | $18/hour + commission from day one | Part-time, growing to full-time

No cold calling. Every person you talk to already wants help with their dog.

Happy With Dogs is a dog training company in Southeast Michigan and Miami. Families come to us with real problems: the dog who drags them down the street, barks at every other dog, or "knows better" but won't listen. Our programs include training retreats, private lessons and group classes.

We're looking for a phone-confident, organized person to own our incoming calls and leads. When someone reaches out, you're the first person they talk to, and the reason they end up working with us.

What you'll do

  • Answer incoming calls and texts
  • Reach new inquiries within minutes, while they're still excited
  • Book families into consultations with our trainers
  • Enroll clients directly in group classes, Puppy Club, boarding and private lesson packages
  • Send confirmations and reminders so people show up
  • Follow up after consultations, send invoices and collect deposits
  • Keep our CRM (GoHighLevel) clean, with a clear next step for every lead

What success looks like

  • First 30 days: You know our programs and checklists, and you're handling calls and texts on your own.
  • 60 days: New leads hear from you within minutes during your shift, and nobody falls through the cracks.
  • 90 days: You're consistently hitting your weekly scorecard and turning more inquiries into clients.

You'll thrive here if you

  • Have experience in appointment setting, inside sales, or customer service with goals
  • Sound warm and confident on the phone, and can guide a conversation without being pushy
  • Work independently: our checklists and scripts are written down, and you use them without needing reminders
  • Follow through every time
  • Like seeing your results each week
  • Love dogs (a big plus, not required)

What we offer

  • $18/hour
  • 2% commission from your first day on every program you help sell. For example, about $80 on a $3,995 training retreat.
  • Remote work, Eastern time hours
  • Written scripts, checklists and real training
  • A chance to grow with our small business: as sales grow, this role grows toward full-time and more responsibility

Schedule: about 25 to 30 hours a week, built around when our clients call (afternoons, evenings and Saturdays).

Location: Remote. You must live in Michigan.

How to apply (please read, this step is required)

We hire for this role by listening first. Every applicant must send a 60-second voice memo. Applications without one will not be reviewed.

Step 1: Picture the call. Jenna filled out a form on our website. She wrote: "My dog Max barks and lunges at other dogs on walks. I'm embarrassed and don't know what to do." You're calling her back for the first time.

Step 2: Record yourself leaving Jenna a voicemail or opening the call, in 60 seconds or less. In your recording:

  • Introduce yourself and Happy With Dogs
  • Show her you heard her problem
  • Invite her to book a free consultation with one of our trainers

No script needed, and it doesn't have to be perfect. Be yourself. We want to hear how you sound on the phone.

Step 3: Record it any easy way.

  • Your phone's voice memo app, uploaded to Google Drive or Dropbox
  • Vocaroo.com (free, no account needed)
  • Loom (free, audio or video)
  • Video works too!

Step 4: Share the link. Make sure the link is set so anyone with the link can listen. Then paste it into the voice memo question when you apply on Indeed. Email: info@happywithdogs.com the file if needed.

What we're listening for: warmth, confidence, and whether Jenna would want to call you back. That's it.

We listen to every recording before we look at resumes.
