Oxbridge Interview Consultant: Medicine, Sciences, Maths, and Law

The Russet Collective prepares applicants to the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge for their interviews. Every session is a live, one-to-one mock interview on video, led by somebody who studied or taught the student's course at Oxford or Cambridge, followed by written notes.

We are building a small panel for this December's interviews in medicine and biomedical sciences, natural sciences (physics, chemistry, and biology), engineering, mathematics, computer science, and law.

The work

- Live one-to-one mock interviews on Google Meet, in your subject, at times you choose.

- Unseen material and follow-up questions in the style of a real Oxford or Cambridge interview, then a short debrief.

- Clear written notes after each session, on our template, within 36 hours.

- We train you in our method before your first session.

Who we are looking for

- A degree from the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge, or experience lecturing, supervising, or teaching there. This is the one essential requirement.

- You have sat the interview yourself, or conducted it, and want to help the next applicants through it.

- You can question a 17-year-old warmly but rigorously: you follow up, push back, and let them think out loud.

- You write clearly and kindly, because families read your notes.

- Medicine: current doctors, medical students in their clinical years, and researchers who studied at Oxford or Cambridge are especially welcome.

Terms

- Self-employed, invoiced monthly and paid within 14 days.

- £60 to £85 per one-hour session, including the written notes, depending on experience and subject. Medicine, and experience interviewing or teaching at Oxford or Cambridge, attract the higher rate.

- Fully online. You set your availability and choose which bookings to accept. There are no minimum hours, and work is offered as families book in your subject.

- Busiest from mid-November to mid-December, with some sessions before and after.

- Before you start we check your identity, qualifications, and references. Most students are under 18, so an Enhanced DBS check, which we arrange, is needed.

- You need the right to work self-employed in the UK.
