Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Remote Language Transcriber to convert audio recordings into accurate and well-formatted text. This position requires excellent listening skills, strong command of the language, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and deliver high-quality transcripts within deadlines. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various projects that demand precise transcription of interviews, meetings, webinars, and other audio content across diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Listen carefully to audio files and transcribe the content verbatim or as per project guidelines.

  • Edit and proofread transcriptions to ensure accuracy, clarity, grammar, and punctuation.

  • Format transcripts according to specified templates or style guides.

  • Manage and organize transcription files with confidentiality and data security in mind.

  • Meet deadlines consistently while maintaining high-quality output.

  • Communicate effectively with project managers regarding transcription progress and challenges.

  • Stay updated with industry best practices and transcription tools/software.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Exceptional command of the English language (oral and written).

  • Superior listening skills with the ability to discern accents, dialects, and nuances.

  • Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 60 WPM preferred).

  • Strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation proficiency.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

  • Familiarity with transcription software and tools (e.g., Express Scribe, Otter.ai, or similar) is an advantage.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of transcription experience preferred, especially in language transcription or related fields.

  • Experience transcribing audio from interviews, podcasts, webinars, or legal/medical content is a plus.

  • Previous remote work experience is desirable but not mandatory.
