Daytona Beach Christian University (DBCU) is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and service-minded Remote Librarian to assist with the continued development and management of our growing academic library.

This is an ideal opportunity for a retired librarian, semi-retired library professional, or someone looking for meaningful part-time work while continuing to serve students in Christian higher education.

Position Summary The Remote Librarian will oversee the organization and maintenance of DBCU's library catalog while supporting the University's commitment to providing quality academic resources for our students and faculty.

This position requires approximately 3–5 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize the University's library catalog.
  • Assist with cataloging new acquisitions.
  • Ensure library records remain accurate and current.
  • Recommend additions and improvements to library collections.
  • Assist with library organization and best practices.
  • Support faculty with library resource needs as requested.
  • Provide occasional guidance regarding library policies and accreditation-related library standards.
Qualifications
  • Current membership with the Christian Library Consortium (CLC) is required.
  • Experience working in an academic library preferred.
  • Knowledge of library cataloging systems and best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
