Social Media Moderator - Entry Level, Remote

About the role

You'll help manage and protect a brand's online reputation by monitoring social media conversations, responding professionally to comments and reviews, and flagging issues that need immediate attention. This is a fully remote position perfect for someone starting out in community management or customer communications.

What you'll do

Monitor mentions, reviews, comments, and conversations across social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit, and Google Reviews

Moderate user content according to platform guidelines and company standards

Reply to questions, reviews, complaints, and comments in a professional, consistent tone

Identify sensitive, damaging, or rapidly escalating issues and alert team members immediately

Help address negative reviews and resolve customer concerns

Write responses tailored to each platform that are accurate, professional, and on-brand

Keep response templates, escalation procedures, and moderation guidelines current

Track recurring themes, complaints, and emerging reputation risks

Document all conversations, replies, escalations, and outcomes

Report on sentiment, review volume, response times, common issues, and engagement metrics

Work with team members across leadership, customer service, marketing, and other departments on sensitive matters

Suggest content ideas and messaging based on what you're seeing in online conversations

Skills and background needed

No prior experience required. Training will be provided. You should have:

Strong writing and grammar skills

Comfort using social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Reddit

Ability to adjust your tone and approach for different platforms and audiences

Good judgment about when to escalate issues to a supervisor

Professional communication style and attention to detail

Rate:Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Contract length:Full time, 40 hours per week
