<strong>Description<br><br></strong>Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.<br><br>Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.<br><br>In this role, you will be part of a team of engineers responsible for improving and standardizing PCB test processes used on the shop floor, supporting scalable deployment across contract manufacturing partners and Leo factory locations. You will contribute to initiatives that increase first-pass yield, reduce false failures, and eliminate operator-driven defects by participating in root cause analysis of software, infrastructure, and process-related issues. You will collaborate with software, hardware, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to identify process gaps and implement corrective actions, while communicating progress to your team and stakeholders. Working closely with CM site and factory representatives, you will support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) recommendations to improve overall line performance.<br><br>Key job responsibilities<br><br><ul><li> Conduct test process analyses across PCBA test workflows to identify failure modes, evaluate improvement alternatives, and optimize yield and throughput</li><li> Support and execute improvements for test systems, balancing performance, schedule, cost, risk, and scalability requirements under the guidance of senior engineers</li><li> Collaborate with test software teams to investigate and resolve software and infrastructure-driven test failures, process gaps, and execution inefficiencies, ensuring test software behavior aligns with manufacturing process requirements</li><li> Document and communicate requirements for test process efficiency, operational excellence, and operator usability across the manufacturing test infrastructure</li><li> Analyze first-pass yield data to identify trends, contribute to prioritization of improvement efforts, and track corrective action effectiveness</li><li> Work with CM site and factory representatives to review test processes, identify gaps, and support standardization efforts across manufacturing locations<br><br></li></ul><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> Experience with test plan development, building the necessary test bench infrastructure, developing tests and verifying the design</li><li> Experience with programming languages like Python, JavaScript, Go, .Net, Java or equivalent</li><li> 2+ years of professional experience in manufacturing test, test process engineering, or automated test equipment (ATE)</li><li> Experience analyzing data to support technical decisions and process improvements</li><li> Experience with embedded system test rack configuration, integration, and optimization<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> Knowledge of fundamentals of networking, security, databases (relational or NoSQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows)</li><li> Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma</li><li> Experience in auditing, risk management, compliance, program management, or quality management systems</li><li> Experience building test automation frameworks and tools</li><li> Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization</li><li> Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware, or experience debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large-scale systems</li><li> Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings, or experience leading technical teams through daily operations and maintenance evolutions</li><li> Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience</li><li> Experience participating in or leading technical collaborations and creating alignment across diverse groups (e.g., hardware engineering, software engineering, program management)</li><li> Experience in hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems</li><li> Familiarity with IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) or other PCBA manufacturing and test standards</li><li> Familiarity with aerospace PCB and electronics standards such as AS9100 (Aerospace Quality Management Systems)</li><li> Experience with National Instruments (NI) TestStand test management software, including sequence configuration, debugging, and deployment in a manufacturing test environment</li><li> Experience supporting contract manufacturer (CM) engagements, including participation in process reviews, yield discussions, and standardization efforts<br><br></li></ul>Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.<br><br>Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
